Kauri Panel

This is a very old wooden panel, made from Kauri. As was the fashion the Kauri had been stained really dark and then some flowers painted onto the front. The painting and the wire on the back of the panel, were added later, I think. I sanded off the painting and the dark stain, but left the stain around the edges to create a frame. I have then hand burnt a family saying ” Being a family means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life no matter what” – which is so true. I love the patina of this old piece of wood, just adds so much character. Approximately 46cm x 25cm. Price includes post and packaging.
