I found this box last week in an Op shop and fell in love with the unusual hinges and the stripes on the lid. I was really surprise when I looked at the bottom and found the sticker “Disabled Soldiers Products New Zealand”. I looked it up and it was set up just after WWII for returned servicemen to sell items and I had been very lucky to find one. I decided to just sand the top back (this had a bit of flaking varnish on it) and leave the rest in original condition. I was inspired by who created this box and felt it needed poppies with a small Kiwi in the top left corner. When you open the box, due to the hinges the lid goes behind the box, its very cool. Approximately 27.5cm x 13.5cm and 7.5cm high. Price includes post and packaging.
